We’re been fascinated to find out about a brilliant new initiative launched to change the business landscape for women today, as well as inspiring young woman of the future. Modern Muse launched with the backing of 100 inspirational women, bought together in a collection of photography by Mary McCartney.
There are 100 Founding Muses, including 14 Patrons, all from diverse backgrounds and job roles include women such as Chrissie Rucker MBE (The White Company), Christina Vaughan (Image Source) Dame Mary Perkins (Specsavers Optical Group) and Judy Craymer (Littlestar Services, producer of Mamma Mia!).
court & spark’s own Pauline Wood has also been selected as a Modern Muse, and will be involved in the initiative by providing one to one mentoring and speaking at events to encourage young women to recognise the exciting career opportunities that the retail sector can provide.
Musing about her involvement, Pauline said: “The Modern Muse project is a unique initiative, and comes at a time where young people starting out in the industry are extremely daunted by the job opportunities out there. Most of the women involved in Modern Muse have themselves had to battle and face huge challenges to become successful, so I hope that I can help young professionals realise that their career journey might have a few bumps along the way, but if they can enjoy the ride they’ll have a lot of fun along their route to the top.”
